What does Money mean?

The truth about Money
What does Money really mean to you? What do you think it Really means to most people? Sometimes you automatically think of fancy cars, big houses, jewelry and other expensive things.
However, when I really stop and think about it, I think the real reason that most people want money, is simply for this one word: SAFETY - We all just want to be Safe.
If you have enough money, you and your loved ones never have to worry about going hungry. You would never have to worry about having a roof over your head, or living in a safe neighborhood - a safe place.
With enough money, you have access to the best of Medical Care. The best doctors, the best medicine, no long lines to wait in. With enough money, you can afford to live a healthier life.
With enough money, you can be sure to go to the best colleges and get the best education.
With enough money, you can wear nice clothes. Get great hair cuts. Drive nice cars. And all of this material stuff usually means you have more friends. People will like you better. Heck, even if you're ugly, just pay for a new face. You can get the best plastic surgery. Studies show that the more attractive people are, the better jobs they get. Even better pay.
I'm not saying that it is a bad thing. I think it's instinctive. Basically on some level we're all drawn to better looking people because better looking makes us think of better health. Isn't that why most men are drawn to women that have bigger breasts and rounded hips? Their base self thinks that is a better body type for fertility and procreation. Our instincts go way back to the cave man days.
It's also true that with more money, you can enjoy more of the things that the world has to offer. Great vacations, boats, thick warm coats, sturdy boots.
If a rich or beautiful person goes missing, it's a proven fact that authorities will work harder to find them and solve that case faster. We see it all the time, don't we?
With plenty of money, you can get accused of committing a crime and have better chances of staying out of jail or going to prison.
PLUS - when you have money, you get more things for free! I've heard plenty of new athletes and celebrities talk about how surprised they are that now that they have plenty of money, everybody is giving them things for free. You pay less for everything. Lower interest rates, if you do finance something. You get everything cheaper because it's easier to maintain a great credit rating.
The reason I'm sharing this theory is because I want to try to explain to the people that are the lucky ones. The people that are better off, if you will, just why the lower class dares to want to live in a nice house, in a nice neighborhood. Is it really so wrong to want to feel as safe as possible? I really believe that is what it boils down to. A simple four letter word,,, S A F E.
The more money you have, the more security you feel. We all just want to feel safe.
All the Best,
KT Banks

Yep, thats it! The other day I was explaining hubpages to someone who asked me why I cared so much about money. I was irritated by this comment, but trying to smooth over the situation, I said "Its not money itself, it's the things I can buy with it" meaning experiences, education, safety, health, etc.
Hi, KT, I have to think about this a bit. I want freedom, freedom to do as I like. That is not necessarily associated with unlimited access to goods and services. The ability not to have to subject your life to the whim of someone else that in return puts money in your pocket. When one controls the stress that is the result of such a life, that is a source of contentment in itself. It is better than a half a million dollar salary with a stressful schedule and a demanding boss. Interesting article Cred2
It helps make life comfortable and it helps pay for my big boy toys. It doesn't buy me any happiness but makes life a kick when I have enough of it.

This is all true. Wonderful hub. Money can buy lots of stuff but one thing it can't buy is love and happiness. usually to some people the more money you get, the more you want. Voted up!
